As i came to the world she held meShe fed ,watered, and Watched me grow
Taught me the ways in which i should go
Never pressed me into any mold
Keep your head up, like a lion be bold
Never knowing my dark activities untold
waiting up on her knees all night as i rolled
greeting me stumbling in the morning light
Feeding the strays i found that previous night
Filling their plate no matter what they'd say
She's the same woman i watched give her diamond ring away
To help the homeless victims of a house fire her house was always open to save the cold
Adopting 3 kids with her health problems untold
Saving 4 lives at the cost of her own
Other than mine 8 numerous times alone
The woman i loved my flesh and my bone
an pure person Riddled with cancer is wrong
i would have taken her place giving up my own
Lost in my thoughts from a picture mom loved best
Dove hunting in the sunflowers one October
Out west
my brother called me home moms trying her best
Rushing home thinking about what she would say
Arriving and Pushing aside the on lookers from out of my way
holding her in my arms that night as she lay
Gasping for air as others looked away in dismay
complimenting her looks as her breath went away
Remembering the last words she whispered that day
Ill see you soon don't forget your way
she closed her eyes and gave her soul away
holding her tight the nurses forced me to go
my mother held me as my first breath was drawn And i held her close till her last was gone...
remembering Octobers and February's silently
