A few times a year it becomes crystal clear
Where you stop and where you stay
The food you eat and with gifts you pay
Watch your mouth they hear what you say
The thoughts of the past and those who are dead
Remembering those ones with pencil lead
Spelling out the pictures in your head
Avoiding some folks that you cannot stand
Pretending your sleeping when they need a hand
Its 4 days yearly that mentally tax you dearly
When you don't go your not missing the show
I refuse to say happy holidays or even go
Miserable folks gathered around with fake smiles
Waste deep in denial
like thick spoiled blood internally vile
ulterior motives loaded with denial
I am changing my direction here on today
I am not pretending life's easy I am only beginning to pay
Take care of your own don't chase the bone
Silent season's greetings
